Invite Liz to Speak

Named one of the 10 Filmmakers to Watch in 2009 by Independent Magazine, Liz Canner has given over 150 public talks, colloquiums and presentations at colleges, film festivals, museums, high schools, hospitals and conferences. Schools such as Harvard, Dartmouth, Brown, MIT, Lake Forest and DePaul have invited her back multiple times to lecture and present her work. During her presentations, Liz utilizes her films as a tool to stimulate discussion about some of the most pressing social issues affecting our society. Her presentation based on Orgasm Inc. is infused with humor and draws on her many years of investigative research. She engages her audience in questions around the role of medicine, the pharmaceutical industry and the media in shaping our understanding of health, illness, desire, gender and sexuality.

In addition to being invited to lecture, Liz has been honored with numerous fellowships and residencies that have allowed for longer and deeper engagement with the community of the sponsoring institution. She has been a Radcliffe Fellow at Harvard University, a Visionary-in-residence at Dartmouth College, an artist-in-residence at the University of North Carolina, a Mudge Fellow at Groton School, and filmmaker-in-residence at the McColl Center for Visual Art . She is also a speaker for Diversity Forums.
